August 2, 2010 ---lost

August 2, 2010. 8:07pm PST. ISO 100. Shutter 2.5. Aperture f/5.6. Manual exposure, no flash.

I love to read. Growing up, we’d go to the library, and I would check out as many books as they allowed. I would spend hours and hours reading my books. I never could seem to get enough of reading.

Staying still in on spot has never been easy. When I read, I change positions often so that my body is as comfortable as possible as my mind gets lost in the story. My family would often find me reading in the oddest places, in the strangest positions as I traveled through each book. In fact, it would be totally common for me to have begun reading sitting upright in the chair, and then work my way around to the position you see in this photo.

It’s not as common anymore to find me upside-down, reading. Not because I think it’s wrong or childish (you all know me better than that!) Simply because the demands of life make it more difficult to spend the time I’d like with a compelling story.

I love to get lost in a good book. xo

  1. I love this picture, Torie! Also- great reading memories. I used to hit the library a lot as a kid, too.

  2. LOL…..nice shot…but doesn’t the blood all rush to your head? ;-D
