Week 2

Day 8

Day 8

Exhaustion and overloaded emotion… all I wanted to be doing was drawing, and listening to music. I tried to capture my mood this time in my pose. Indirect lighting, very slow shutter speed (no flash) taken at 8 p.m. (April 21, 2009)
In fact, I did do a lot on my drawing in between shots.

Day 9

Day 9

Cooking chili in my kitchen at home. Jessica was really hungry. It was already 7:30 p.m. when I took this, but you can see it still looks light outside through the dining room window. I’m still in my teacher clothes…
No flash, slow shutter speed, but the kitchen lights are really bright.

Day 10

Day 10

A good teaching day. My students were attentive today, especially my fourth graders. I’m sure it was because they were so excited about the science experiment. Here I am discussing the results of the experiment with them (and explaining how they should write up their reports!) No flash here, because it reflects so much off the white board. I set the camera to a very, very slow shutter speed.

Day 11

Day 11

Friday night. I’ve got nothing going on, and I’m too tired to do any work. Just me, my computer, my music, and my book. No flash, slow shutter speed.

Day 12

Day 12

It was a long, busy day. I got a lot of schoolwork and housework done, and just wanted to relax with a book. I used a slow portrait flash. The tan walls did not work well with lamplight. Shutter speed was 800.

Day 13

Day 13

The day had begun with so much promise… sunny, a great run, my Forerunner50 worked great while running! Then things weren’t as sunny as the day. At the end of the day, here I am, in my living room/studio, watching the cats play. The flash was too bright for my mood. There was just one light one by my easel to the right. the shutter speed was set at 100.

Day 14

Day 14

An interesting day… didn’t sleep last night, then overslept this morning, but my students were great today. The skies were overcast this morning, but I received a nice e-mail. The contractor next door broke our sewer line, but then I got a fun phone call from a friend. Underneath all this… my own internal emotions. Late afternoon, natural light. ISO 400.

  1. day 11, what i would have done to squeeze you.

  2. The project is fab. I really like the experience of your moods. The shutter speeds, no flash really add to the effect. I wish I could take such telling shots.

  3. Well-done – am taking the mood & thought here was “full-force bitch mode”

  4. Nicely continuing the theme (as we’ve discussed). You may want to try exploring alternate angles, close-ups, etc….

  5. or don’t…it really is none of my business, but you look even nicer when you smile!

  6. Smile!
