Week 3

Day 15

Day 15

In my head… making a decision about how to handle a situation. None of the options will truly change things – what should I do? Outwardly… still in ‘teacher clothes.’ We get a gorgeous late afternoon natural light. No flash, ISO 360.

Day 16

Day 16

An emotionally taxing evening yesterday led to a sleepless night. I felt pretty much invisible all day, wanting peace and quiet. Now I’m home from work, getting ready to drive carpool tonight. But I just had to eavesdrop on the contractor from next door who’s been told to cease working until further notice… and obviously ignoring those directions. No flash, because of the afternoon light. ISO 200.

Day 17

Day 17

Teaching division today. A tough math concept for many students. The yellow blur you see is a pencil I’m waving, the students who understand it always want to shout out the answers! I haven’t been sleeping well, so I’m really tired here. My mood wasn’t that great, but I don’t like to show that to the students. Taken around 12:15 p.m., no flash, ISO 200.

Day 18

Day 18

I had a late-afternoon headache, and all I wanted to do was a little practice… something simple and soft. But I hadn’t taken a photo yet today. The flash hurt my eyes, but the room was too dark without it.. all the other photos were too yellowish. I learned two things today…. that I still love playing piano, and that I should take photos throughout the day so I’m not stuck taking one when I’m not feeling it… ISO 800 with flash.

Day 19

Day 19

Early Saturday morning. Jess took the SAT2, I sat in the parking lot waiting. My 14 hour-long headache was only getting worse. I couldn’t concentrate on correcting papers, so I took photos instead. I’m sitting on the entrance wall of LBCC that says “Pacific Coast Campus.” It was very overcast, but this is natural light. ISO 200.

Day 20

Day 20

Go Surf City 16Pink!! Or at least, that was what today was about. Jessica’s team had a tournament at CSUF…. where I got my master’s degree. The campus is pleasant, and it was gorgeous weather. I only had one major stress item today, otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed my time watching the volleyball team play, and hanging out with friends. Oh, and the hundreds of action shots I got…
-A sunny day outside, ISO 200.

Day 21

Day 21

Unsure, but hopeful. Wishing, but hiding. In my kitchen on Monday night, making cupcakes for Jessica’s 16th birthday. I’ve got a lot on my mind and in my heart.
ISO 200. No flash.
