Week 4

Day 22

Day 22

Today was my daughter’s 16th birthday. Lots of emotional ups and downs… but it ended on a good note. I took this photo after taking the other teens home, just before getting ready for bed. I was very, very tired. Used the flash because the color of my dress didn’t turn out well with lamp light from the room. IS0 200.

Day 23

Day 23

It was a super rough day today. I think my lack of sleep isn’t helping me one bit. Standardized State Testing for my students makes for a stressful environment, also. At home here, I have my little sketch book out, am actually drawing my cat… ISO 200, no flash because of that phenomenal afternoon sunlight. And if you’re wondering, yes, I wear dresses and skirts almost every day to work…

Day 24

Day 24

Eight o’clock at night. Just seemed like a surreal day (including the Deja Vu moment,) so I felt that the lack of lighting was appropriate. One desk lamp behind me. The only other light was in the room next door. Again, a lamp. I had to stand very, very still since there was no flash, so I had plenty of time to contemplate the events of the past 36 hours. ISO 100.

(Dark Was the Night)

Day 25

Day 25

A busy Friday at school, busy afternoon with Jess, and a wonderful evening at the #lbtweetup! Flash off. ISO 100.

Day 26

Day 26

An easy Saturday. I’d slept late, gone running, and had waited for the Maytag repairman. (That was a disappointment.) Gotten some shopping done, spoken with several people, resolved my Maytag oven issues… all in all, a productive day. Listening to Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings here, inspired to paint a little. ISO 200, with flash.

Day 27

Day 27

Mother’s Day lunch with my Mom, Dad, Scott, Katie, Jessica, and my Nana. Here I am, late afternoon, grading papers in the gorgeous afternoon light. I’m feeling subdued–not sad, but definitely introspective. ISO 200. No flash.

Day 28

Day 28

Still introspective… I always get this way as the school year end looms in the near future. I want to take a breather, so many changes this year.. but no time to sit and think. This is late afternoon, with still a long evening ahead. ISO 200, no flash.

  6. Oh…and on a non-photographic note…. nice LBD!
    😉

  7. Some good compositional technique here – the hair covering your eye, the rose, and the framing lines in the cabinetry….
